    Diesel Exhaust Fluid Low,

A couple of months ago I had the following warning come up on the dash: "Diesel Exhaust Fluid Low, Refill Required Within 1000 miles".

At the time I put in over 1 litre of AdBlue but the warning message has stayed on ever since and it has also disappeared from the settings menu.

I have the dreaded MOT tomorrow so wanted to get rid of it beforehand.

I put about another half litre in again tonight but the message stayed the same, any idea of how to get rid of it.

Is it possible to overfill the reservoir? otherwise how can I tell how much is in there.

    Thanks

The tank is about 10l so adding 1l probably didn’t increase the level enough to get rid of the warning.

I believe some people have overfilled the tank, but I always put 10L in when I fill it and haven’t ever had any issues.

Put at least 5 litres in, tank is about 17 litres total, will take a 10 litre container when warning comes up.

    Many thanks.

When I originally googled it the decimal point was obviously in the wrong place Big Cry

Will have to go out and get 10 litres this evening.

Take your time pouring it in, does help to have the front of the car higher than rear, tank is actually under middle row of seats so it needs to displace the air out of the filler system so will blow back through the filler if you poor in too quick.

    Adblue low

    Hi all,
I’m driving around South of France and low and blue message came up so I’ve bought 10ft r of the correct Adblue to top up. Problem is I cant get the top off the Adblue tank which on YouTube vids is a simple anti clockwise turn. I don’t want to force it so is there something I am missing here?
Got to top up or I wont get home!
    Thanks.

    Terry,

I had exactly the same problem.

Just went out and still had a problem getting it off.

So, get a flat head screwdriver that fits diagonally into the square hole, press down hard with one hand and turn slowly anti-clockwise, at the same time with the other hand turn the plastic directly below the knurled knob as it's all one piece. If you get my drift as difficult to explain Whistle

Get back to me if you still have a problem.

    Hi Rob,
Being a bit of a Boy Scout when travelling, I,m prepared for most things, I had a pair of grips in the tool bag and they undid it. Did’nt have anything that would fit the square hole.
It was the Ablue that had crystallised around the cap due to spillage of previous top ups no doubt.
Anyhow, all back up and running enough to get me home with 10 ltr for now.
    Many thanks,

    Terry
