I noticed the strange lack of input on your post on the D3/D4 forum...my first thoughts were crankshaft position sensor or similar on your D3...but your IID tool would have picked that or the other usual culprits up. You've also checked all the other obvious stuff like the LPFP and HPFP.

Far from being a D3 guru since I've never owned one, barring the blatantly obvious stuff like fuel line or fuel rail leaks or the like, I'm no real help either Sad

I’m genuinely disappointed by the lack of people of knowledge no stepping forward too.
    As for checks
All the lpfp side is renewed, I did try just the pump but ended up replacing the whole sender unit
I’ve checked the fuel filter lines are correct and not blocked
And the only thing I’ve found is the pressure when cranking is very low with the original pump and I do t think the vcv are allowing fuel through on the other pumps so I’ve bit the bullet and gone for a remanufactured pump

The harsh reality of many forums is, when you’re struggling with a problem with your car, only you can really get it diagnosed. Often the advice, even with forum searches, is many and varied and often goes around the houses. A few commentators may touch on your issue but most never directly help you and I include the so called forum experts in that.

It’s not because they don’t want to assist and more to do with each problem requiring individually diagnosing on your specific vehicle which just isn’t available to inspect to many commentators.
Unless you’ve got a dead obvious, known and well documented issue, the advice can be many and varied and next to useless to you. Many people, especially with a complicated problem, prefer not to respond for fear of compounding your confusion as the symptoms are often varied and contradictory and potentially point to any one of many things.

Been there, done that……….got the freakin T Shirt.🙄

Moley: How are you getting along with the Bluetooth battery monitoring device I recommended or is delivery to your neck of the woods a bit hit + miss?

Love it...still not got around to fitting it yet. I've been kinda busy these last few weeks and usually end up sitting down in this really comfy computer chair when I'm done for the day and falling asleep. Proper old people stuff Embarassed

It's a bit like getting my pressure washer out and washing the car...or mowing the grass. I've not got around to doing any of those either Laughing

Too much of this going on at the mo....both the boys are busy with cows and stuff too so I've dragged my creaky old carcass out of the rocking chair and helping out. Farming retirement at it's finest Rolling Eyes

Found something else that I want but don't really need. Might be useful for someone though. Certainly one of the tidiest looking and easiest to install dashcams I've ever seen for a D5 Thumbs Up

    4K OEM mount Dash cam

    D4 and D5 versions available...

Of course they do, they're utter shysters only separated by a couple of generations from snake oil salesmen...They also probably don't cover you for damage to your car caused by acts of god or acts of terrorism... It'll be in the small print somewhere I bet. So you'd better hope that some dodgy chap dressed up as a priest doesn't put some 9mm holes your car with an Uzi Whistle

When I said 'more relevant to me'...I meant that our island kinda looks like this most of the year...and no, it's not photoshopped Laughing

is that where you live ? now I’m starting to be really jealous Big Cry Very Happy Very Happy ❤️

Not our farm in the pic, but yes. That wee cottage is on the east side of the island where it's a bit more rocky. The west coast where we are is surrounded by white shell sand beaches...We can see the sea from every window in the house Cool

The beach just below the farm.

Summers are short and cooler than mainland UK average...winters are long, dark and usually very wild Neutral

Added this to the list of slightly useful blingy bits. A Personal request from Mrs Mole strangely enough...wonders will never cease. Maybe she thinks the canvas chairs and duvet thing come with it Shocked

Currently on a slow boat from China...I'll do a review and blow by blow fitting pics when it gets here.

    Modular boot rack linky

I was tempted by it, I must admit. But a dashcam for me up here? It's all single track roads and no traffic...I can drive from one end of the island to the other and pass maybe 2 cars heading in any direction..

If I see any more than 3 cars on the road at the same time, either the ferry has just come in or somebody has died Whistle

If you do Temu, these are also great value at under £6 and they fit the D5 bars.

Aye, they arrived the other day (forgot to mention it)...very pleased with them indeed, especially for the price. Good sturdy bits of kit and they fit on the roof bars just fine Thumbs Up
