Number plate lights not extinguishing
Good Evening,
First post so please be gentle!
Have recently swapped a D4 for a D5 (2020 SD6 HSE) and have been very pleased so far. It was obviously only a matter of time before the first niggle and I would be very grateful if anyone can advise on the following issue. I’ve searched the forum to no avail.
Essentially, as title suggests the number plate lights are not extinguishing when the car is turned off, locked and alarmed. They do dim, but remain on. I’m clearly concerned about battery drain.
A Google search recommended a hard reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery after 15mins. But I just wanted some grown up advice before attempting this.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the welcome Phil. Hope you haven’t been too badly impacted by this weather.
Attempted hard-reset today to no avail. Will go down the warranty route next week and update when issue is known. Dealer has been helpful and thinks it’s either a corroded wire or faulty boot switch.

Definitely sounds like a bad earth or something. Just as an experiment, if you have the light switch on the stalk set to auto, try turning it to off and check if the number plate lights are still on when you lock the car...
