I'm normally on sister sites to this one: disco3.co.uk and fullfatrr.com, also run by Martin L, but have been trying to help a neighbour with his 'new to him' 2020 Disco 5.
It's been blowing cold air through the driver's side air vents instead of warm. He got the car this summer and this issue has become apparent since the cold weather.
Being a Disco 4 owner myself, I immediately thought of blend flaps and actuators, and hooked up my GAP IID, but being a G3 model it won't work with this 2020 D5 - so no use.
A bit more playing around, showed warm / hot air could be produced from the vents, but they quickly went cold again, so I started to think it was an air duct temp sensor issue. There's one for each air vent outlet - I found out after a bit of internet searching.
We pulled out the driver's seat and found that the two warm air duct temp sensors for the right rear passenger feet and right rear face vent (in B pillar) had no wires attached! The sensors were there, but no evidence whatsoever of any wiring.
It looks like someone has been in here before, judging by the scratches, broken clips and date code on the audio amp. Seemingly to replace said Harmon Kardon audio amp under the driver's seat base, and it looks like they've somehow removed the wiring to the sensors?
There's no evidence of them at all. We removed the plate under the driver's seat, all interior trim, there's nothing there!
We also removed the passenger seat and both air temp duct sensors on that side connect to wires coming from a larger loom, so all good on the passenger side.
Back to the drivers side though.... As there's no evidence of wires or connector coming from anywhere on the looms under the driver's seat, the only thing I can think of is they connect to the audio amp via an unused port we found on the amp itself. This sounds crazy, but I'm wondering if there's a short lead missing that plugs into the amp and goes to the two HVAC duct air temp sensors in the floor under the driver's seat?
