Re: Reversing camera died.

Common sense would suggest it needs the trim panel removing from the inside of the tailgate, so I'll start there...
.
It's really easy.
1. Remove the torx screw from the handle inside the boot lid.
2. pull off the panel inside the boot lid. Apart from the screw you've already removed, its just clips that pull off.
3. Disconnect the interior boot closing switch
4. Remove the interior LED lights
5. Put the panel somewhere safe.
6. Disconnect the camera washer hose
7. Remove the (6 I think) nuts that hold the external trim strip in place. (don't remove the (3 each side) nuts that hold the lights in place).
8. Pop the trim strip off.
9. disconnect the camara cable from the back of the camera
10. unclip the camera from inside the trim strip.
11 do all of the above in reverse.
Followed the above, and apart from NOT disconnecting the washer hose as there was sufficient length on the hose to allow the external trim strip to pull forwards, I have successfully changed the rear view camera on our Disco 5 this weekend. New camera is crystal clear and cost just £60 off eBay !!
Thanks !!!

Excellent news... I wish it were just my camera at fault on mine.

Hmm, wonder if its worth 'upgrading' camera. The factory camera is awful! Wide lens makes stuff to the left and right of the car seem like your going to hit it. Also the quality is very poor.

See photo attached. Crystal clear compared to the old one I took out. Part number for my MY 2021 is LR129291 (L8B2-19H422-AD) and cost from £67 on eBay (Land Rover want £360 for the same camera)

They're fairly generic...as in...it's simply a camera. If one works on a 2021 model, it'll work just as well on a 2020 since it has a generic (8 pin I think) electrical connector... If the camera has an LR OE part number, and there's many of them with the same part number fitted to most JLR vehicles and all readily available via eBay etc. I'd be confident in saying, it's good to go. The electrical connector only fits on one way...so it's not like you can fit the camera incorrectly or anything.

There may be different versions on different ages of vehicle. When I changed the one on my MY22 D300, the connector was coaxial, not 8 pin.
This is the correct one for a MY22 D300

MY2026 D5 Metropolitan D350 - finally arrived after the cyber attack.
MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - sold....MY2019 D5 HSE SD6 - sold

Indeed Jon, many thanks for the clarification and correction...I tend to assume way too much when it comes to newer models...
