    Tramlining

My D5 has the stock Pirelli Scorpion Verdes fitted and they are at the correct light load pressure but tramline a lot more than I’d expect. Didn’t suffer this on previous Discos inc the two Sports I had. These had Continental Cross Contacts, Grabber AT2 and Wrangler Duratrac’s fitted.

Anyone else with the same tyre notice this on their D5? Anyone have any advice on why this could be the case ?

Maybe let a couple of pounds out of the tyres ? Or is it a characteristic of the Verdes ?

    Cheers

Could it be the “keep lane assist” kicking in ?

No that’s off. Annoys me having a vibrating steering wheel when I straighten the road by cutting across the white line.

Does the LDW actually turn the wheel in the D5? On the Sport it just vibrates the wheel.

Just vibrates, agreed, it’s an annoying feature. It’s been turned off on every car I’ve had with it fitted.

Really? Not seen that option on my HSE. Just on or off and sensitivity.

Either way, it’s off in my D5.

This is front wheel tramlining and shimmying. Roads into my town the DS didn’t tramline whereas the D5 does.

According to my HSE:- The lane departure system does not assist in changing the direction of the vehicle.

It did on the Velar I had on demo Thumbs Up

Lane Departure Warning & Lane Keep Assist (LKA) are two different systems

I believe LKA was an option? It does give a steering input, you can switch it completely off or choose vibrate or just steering.

Re Tramlining - yes I think mine's been getting progressively worse.

It's got 20 inch Pirelli Scorpion standard fit etc and has now done nearly 18k.

When it was new it was perfect, but both my wife and I have noticed in recent weeks it's felt vague and tramlines. Especially noticed it when drove our Golf and Audi over Xmas which are older and done much more miles, but totally planted on the road.

It's not bad enough to warrant a trip to the dealers but will definitely get it looked at when it's serviced (which will be quite soon).

    Will report back.

    Thanks.

Anyone else on Scorpion Verdes experiencing the same?

I have Scorpon Winters , but we dont have any trams here. Very Happy

Joking aside the road markings we have in the part of Canada are simply sprayed non reflective paint so have virtually no profile. I also do not think we get the rutting caused by HGVs I was used to seeing when I lived in the UK.

We get a lot of HGV ‘ruts’ on our Censored roads. This is the first time I’ve really been affected by them though.

Mind you, the pot holes we now have after our two day winter are atrocious but the D5 simply ignores them.

I’m running Pirelli Scorpion Verde but can’t say I’ve noticed tramlining.
