Assuming you plan to change wheels, 255/55R20 General Grabber AT3 are a good choice and a standard size for the D5.

You're probably right that they won't cover anywhere near the full cost for an out of warranty vehicle but for the amount of money involved, even a 20% contribution is worth having if you can get it.

Definitely louder than the D4, but not noticable on most green lanes. It seems to be road speed related not engine speed related. I'd guess that I start to be aware of it at about 15mph.

The transfer box whines if you're going quickly in low range. I only notice it when I'm being lazy and don't change back to hi range e.g. for a short section of tarmac road before going off-road again ...
