I was referring to stiff’s locality/country, which is about the size of a large council estate in the U.K.

It's to do with the number of roads, not size of the country Del, My download is 3Gb, one Gb for each road
. Should be done in 15-20 minutes.

Can you transfer Map updates to another vehicle ?
I think the answer is NO, but i will ask anyway.
Mrs collegue at work has a FL2 which has just passed the 5 year mark from new.
She got an email last week asking for £169 for a USB with the latest satnav maps/updates.
Dont know if its a coincidence, but the satnav stopped working the day after.
Never had previous issues ever with the satnav, nor has it ever been updated. Never had emails before either she said.
Tried resetting via the menu etc and even pulled the fuse, but too no avail.
So the question is, can the USB data be transferred to the FL2, or as i suspect, is it locked to the vehicle.
Hence LR can keep charging every individual customer,
Can get the USB stick online for £90 but thats a tank of fuel
Seems a bit coincidental, akin to the Apple scandal a few years ago with them deliberately slowing the phones down, after installing the latest software, so customers would buy a new phone
I know in my previous car the satnav still worked, just a message that it needed updated.
I never realised that there was an "Expiry Date" so to speak and the unit stops functioning, or is it possible the units goosed?
