The 3L Td6 has a closed "mesh look" on the driver's left-hand lower intake, the driver's right-hand lower intake is an open mesh for a second radiator circuit, I think for the oil cooler for the single turbo. I believe the Sd6 twin turbo might have both open, with a separate intercooler for each turbo on each side, and the SVX might have both open as well for the coolers necessary for the supercharged V8.
