IID tool
Hello All,
I have had a d2, d3, rrs and l322 ffrr and have used my IID on all of them (except the d2 where I had a nanocom).
I have been waiting for GAP to support the D5, but there is still no news.
In the meantime, I have read that on the D5 LR have write protected the ccf.
Does anyone know if that is correct, and if GAP (or any other for that matter) will manage ever manage to get the IID tool working with the D5?
Any opinions appreciated.

My guess is, with SOTA enabled, they have locked down all the modules with strong authentication and encryption. Without that control it can be a bit risky to perform updates remotely if you don't have absolute knowledge of what the target's current baseline is.
Sadly for DIY'ers and aftermarket tuners, this is probably the way things are going to be for new vehicles going forward.

I have both "Professional" IID and JLR Pathfinder.
IID will read limited fault codes and reset them but quite honestly is of little use.
With Pathfinder I can access the CCF settings but as you rightly suggest virtually everything is locked down, only some very minor settings can be made such as "wiper speed" and a few other changes.
GAP are working on a solution for a DOIP interface but how much access it will enable and the release date seems a long way off.

Check out JAS Landrovers.(indy) Joe (the owner) appears to have total understanding of current model diagnostic/repair/upgrade software. If I understand correctly, he uses SDD, Pathfinder and Pico and a fair amount of experience and common sense to identify and sort problems.
I doubt if anyone will overcome JLR's security and develop a 'DIY' tool that does the job at a realistically affordable price. But I do live in hope!!!!!

IIDTool, the latest build version, will do fault checking, clearing and suspension settings (raising, lowering). It is still a work in progress.

So realistically its not at present worth the cost !!!

IID Tool
Just to resurrect this thread - does anyone know if GAP have updated the IID Tool for the Discovery?
Or has anyone used there IID tool and its been of use on their Discovery (5)?

OK I’ve now sold my D3 and collect my Discovery today so have kept the IID Tool in the hope that GAP

I kept my IID Tool when I sold my D3 recently and bought a 2019 D5 in the hope that it can be upgraded.
