Car was in at the dealer yesterday and they could not update the shared secrets software! So Rallyevo3 was correct a new telemetric module is required and is now on order, to be fitted next Tuesday.

Final update.
Just got my 2018 model back after 3 days in the dealers while they changed the telemetrics module and updated all the software for it. After a bit of faffing about to reconnect using my sim card and my phone as a hot spot the new unit works perfectly. I have full live updates and internet connection. I think I am fortunate the car is still under warranty.
Good luck if you are having the same problem, but it looks like a new TMU is the only fix.
