Well, so far so good, It dawned on me the other day just how much i’d Missed being in a Discovery, opening up the load space and throwing in two large bags, a ruck sack and a few coats, that familiar space was back, so was the driving position and also as if from nowhere the “permagrin” had returned.
Still getting used to all the controls, fitted my 12gb SIM card the other day but as yet haven’t set up the hot spot. The Sat Nav looks impressive using the on line mapping but it looks a bit data hungry ? Still no pics,
But she looks well in grey with tints, steps and rails and the polished alloys suit the grey and silver theme.
Just ordered some car wash stuff, snow foam, wax, wheel cleaner,
Just need the time to actually set aside to clean the thing. Then I’ll take some pics

You can switch between wide angle (as in the view traffic detection flips to) and the normal view by tapping the camera icon. Not seen a zoom mode though.

yes mine has a zoom ...have to say they are far better cameras than on the D4

The function of the camera icon varies, depending on the selected gear and the vehicle’s road speed. The camera function gives the following options:
When in a forward gear, at speeds below 10 km/h (6 mph):
Press once to select the T Junction View.
Press twice to select the Rear Junction View.
Press a third time to return to the T Junction View.
When in Neutral (N) or Park (P):
Press once to select the Plan View.
Press twice to select the T Junction View.
Press a third time to select the Rear Junction View.
When in Reverse (R):
Press once to select the Rear Junction View.
Press twice to select the T Junction View.
Press a third time to return to the Rear Junction View.
PAN AND ZOOM TOOLS:
When in a full screen view of a camera image, touch the image to display the pan and zoom tools. The pan and zoom tools allow the image to be viewed at three levels of detail and can be manipulated left, right, up, and down. Double tap the image to jump to the middle level of zoomed detail and allow the same pan and zoom functionality.
DG, is there a way of the front camera coming on, say under 20mph automatically instead of physically touching the screen ???
I fitted an aftermarket unit too my car and the front camera automatically kicks in if your going under 20mph. Over 20 mph it defaults too the sat nav screen/tv or what ever was being played beforehand.
Far easier than hitting the button on the infotainment screen.

Seeing as I arrived at my destination at 2am it’s technically “today”...
Drove 1,187km and it really was more comfortable and relaxing than previous Discos. Including passenger seat.
11 hours door to door (shared driving) with a couple of stops; 120km/h average speed. 12.1 liters per 100 km’s so Si6 fuel consumption not massively different to the D4 (3.0 SDV6) but then the latter was carrying quite a bit of additional items which really didn’t help fuel consumption...
Fuel costs in France hurt, though - At one point 50 cents a liter difference compared to home Been a long time since I’ve had a 100 euro fill up...
(Still miffed the load space cover doesn’t fit with an Engel in the boot...or the middle row seat doesn’t go fully flat when you decide to put the Engel there instead... )

D3 2007MY HSE with a couple of extras....
