The TD6 engine has been dropped
Looking at the Landrover UK website, there are now only three engine choices:
2.0 Litre Sd4 Diesel Automatic (240HP)
3.0 Litre Sd6 Diesel Automatic (306HP)
2.0 Litre Si4 Petrol Automatic (300HP)
Seems to have been done very quietly, I had not heard anything about this. Only picked my HSE TD6 last month.

Think it's just a re-designation of the name from T to S tbh

I guess its the RRS engine with the extra 50bhp and 100nm torque over the TD6.

Sdv6 is twin turbo, tdv6 is mono turbo hence different power and torque. Discovery 4 actually had a detuned twin turbo engine to give 258bhp and 600nm.
Also, previous engines were Sd4 500nm, Tdv6 600nm, now Sd4 drops to 430nm and Sdv6 jumps to 700nm so now a big gap between engine offerings.

There is also quite a big price hike now if you want a 3L Diesel.
Wonder if it is because the TD6 does not meet the euro six 'real world test' so they have dropped it and the SD6 does meet it.

It’s the switch to LRs own ingenium engine, was always on the cards, nothing to do with real world testing.
EDIT - Perhaps not, just the same old engine from the RRS

This is all very confusing 🤪
Is the SD6 still a V6 then, is the new 3.0 Litre ingenium unit a straight 6 ? Although not yet out ?

Td6 engine still the only diesel offered in the US on FFRR, RRS, and D5.
If they continue to offer diesels here - the take rate is relatively high - then I do hope the new Ingenium I6 comes here as well. 300hp would be perfect for this truck.
Edit: a slightly robustified version of the Td6 is now offered on the US's best-selling vehicle, the Ford F150 pickup. It's rated for towing at over 10,000 lbs, but is down a few HP and lb-ft over the Td6.

Seems like there are some very confused opinions on engines...
The TD6 and the SD6 are the same engine - the SD6 just has an additional turbo and a different map. It is the same lump as in the D4, so not a JLR Ingenium.

👍
So it’s is the RRS Engine then ? Or map ? It’s actually the D4, D5 and RRS lump ?

Yes. And the Jaguar XF and F-Pace lump as well, just different mapping.
