    Dashcam power

    Chaps - also asked on the "old" forum Thumbs Up

    for those with a dashcam fitted to your D5 where are you picking up 12v power? - I will be refitting my Blackvue and this has the cigarette type power plug on the end. I can only see one socket in the front for this and that would mean having loose cables around the center console. I dont mind chopping this plug off and connecting into a 12v ignition switched feed - if so from where?

    OK Cheers - so just ordered one of those piggyback power feeds. Once I have it I will go in search of the 12v switched fuse number mentioned in that thread.

    Hoping to use OBDC plug so it can be used in parking mode and avoid warranty issues from hardwiring

    actual turned out much easier - i used the 12v socket in the upper glove box. OK you can see the wire but only a few inches of it and its not loose and dangling about

    I used a piggy back fuse to the fuse box behind the glove box. You can get a female cigarette lighter socket and hide that behind there as weel fed from piggy back fuse.
    Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
    Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.
