    ADBLUE LEVEL

My local dealer has suggested that when 'topping up' the adblue, be careful not to overfill as sometimes the level sensor can become confused and read it as empty with the obvious consequences. He suggests leave refilling until 2-3k miles remaining and then put in 10litres, another benefit is that adblue doesn't go stale in the tank.

Mine said the same. I just put less in than it says it needs. e.g if it says it wants 6L, I put 4 or 5L in.

in which case, since mine is reading 2k left, I shall just put a 10L cantainer in, which will stick it back to about 7k, and then another 10L before I tow down to Spain at the end of July Very Happy

Havent checked how much it wants, but on basis theres only 2000 miles left it'll take more than 10L, took 17L when halfords did it at 1500 miles remaining last time

Filled mine to the brim once, didn't seem to bother it. Took a nice long time to register any decrease in range....

How come some of you mention litres and some of you mention miles to a fill up ?
I've just checked mine and it states miles to the next fill.

The litres needed to refill bit pops up on screen in addition to the miles left at some point when the ad Blu level is low.

Embarrassingly I’ve never done mine. I guess I should one day.

My dealer tops it up (they’re 15 mins away) Whistle

In truth, there little more to it than filling up your screen wash. I got two x 10lt containers of it for £5 each - it was on special offer from eurocarparts. If you spill any, just wash it down, it’s not corrosive, but leaves a slight residue if you don’t and it dries out. Easy removed even if you forget.

Dangerdave.. I wish!!!!!, I could p*ss faster. I have to almost 'dribble' it into my top up bottle. I've now got a 10l pressure bottle with a tube restrictor and when needed slightly pressurise it and leave tit to do its own thing while I have a cuppa.

Rolling with laughter not that bad surely?

I am off to my routine dental. The dentist has a Volvo, we are always arguing about motors, which is awkward when he’s doing a clean and polish! Tends to have to last say.

I read somewhere that topping up can be an issue if the car is nose down on a slope. Flat or upwards seems to allow better filling.
