Bear in mind that with a 32GB drive, the actual capacity will be 29.71GB (or less), So with 28GB worth of maps, we're sailing perilously close to maximum capacity. For the sake of £8 as LancsLad has just said, I can't help but think that getting a 64GB is hardly a hardship when you've dropped the best part of £70k-£80k on the rest of the car... Laughing

Eventually, after I left the car and it went to sleep, I restarted and it was back to normal. Rolling Eyes

So now the Map downloader app doesn’t see any USB stick plugged in. 32GB or 64GB. Both FAT32 formatted.

It does however see the AirPort base station HD used for Time Machine though which it never used to Thud

Both USB drives mount on the desktop and work fine in the Finder.

So now I can’t even download the map updates.

I am not going to bother, it’s flipping pointless doing this once a month particularly up here where the road don’t change one century to another and I know where I am going without a satnav.

I relented and updated the maps on a 2019 MacBook Air, Thunderbolt 3 connection, omg it took just over 2 hours, not bad for a Saturday afternoon, the thing flies despite the connection being the same as before.

Once OTA updates are enabled does this update the maps for us?
Just a thought or would that be too easy?
