Dealer told me the other day Landrover are due to issue a bulletin telling them soon what current orders are going to be built either M22/MY23.

But i take anything they say with a pinch of salt as nothing has been true since i placed order start of July……

It’s a weird situation as normally a new MY brings some improvements but this time it seems to be a price increase and features being cut to smooth out their manafacturing.

I read the other day BMW is removing touch functionality from iDrive for cars made in the US which includes the X7. They give you some credit ($500) I think for you to spend on other options so no price cut I think. The iDrive controller is good but honestly when you want to punch in a postcode or something it's just so much easier to push the screen when your parked up.

We’re all getting royally rogered by companies desperate to make up profits lost during the pandemic, simples.

Expect more of the same! They’ve got shareholders remember and heaven forbid they end up out of pocket.

Now had to revise my order. I now can't have the HUD even though it's on the configurator. Had to add fog lights, and a space saver wheel. HSE does not have electric third row seats and a gesture tailgate not that I am bothered about these.I have changed the colour to the bronze colour as I think it goes better with the black roof.

That sucks that you've had to change your order. Still worried I'll turn up and it'll be like home food delivery with a list of substitutes on my order.

Sorry Sir, no full fat version so we substituted your order with the vegan option.

So some good news and not so good news. Car should be arriving today and probably I can then pick it up either Mon / Wed kind of time next week. I've been lucky here in that the date hasn't slipped once on this though of course original estimated date was noticably longer than you'd have in normal times.

Bad news is it's not quite the spec I ordered but maybe not the end of the world. Strangely one part with zero micro chips is different so it's not the Natural Shadow Oak Veneer but Natural Charcoal Oak Veneer. Not really worried about that, liked the less glossy look of the other one but not something I'd bat an eye lid on really.

The other part that's missing is the Remote Cabin Pre-Heating. Not one that I'd heard of a shortage of but as it was put to me if they didn't take this out the car wouldn't have been built. Of course it would of been nice if someone told me up front which hasn't happened. I've asked if this can be retro fitted to the car at a later date when available. I know people slap them into older Disco's so sure it could be done but more around warranty though maybe there's a wiring loom missing or something else that makes it not really possible.

Anyway unlikely to reject it from this one missing as I know you can remotely start the engine instead from the app to do a similar thing but I'd still decided I wanted this and ordered it.

Shame puts a bit of a downer on what otherwise is good news. Looking forward to picking it up though soon Smile

Yeah agreed, in normal times I'd be waiting 3 months when I've used BMW or Mercedes. It's still quite a bit longer but know it could have been way worse.

So I presume your car has been built as a MY22? Dealer told me last week they are now building MY23 amazingly.

Good question but not sure there's any technical changes between MY22 and MY23 is there? It's more pricing and option tweaks I thought.

There are things which were standard on MY22 are now extra cost options on MY23 such as no front fog lights, no spare wheel (sticky gunk and a pump instead, even the space saver spare is extra cost), manual not electric 2nd & 3rd row seats and probably others.

MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
    MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price!

Yes as I found out to my cost last week when I had to re order a MY23. Even the gesture tailgate is now extra on the HSE not that I bothered with that.

Well not been mentioned but that would be enough for me to reject the car by that point as it would be well off from the spec I ordered. I mean I pretty much ticked all the option boxes so I was expecting everything. Seems I should have everything other than the additional diesel heater which is annoying but it was one of the few options I did ponder on knowing that you can remotely start the car from the app anyway. I get it's probably better for the engine to use the diesel heater instead and I did order it but ultimately I only need the engine to last for the say 3 years I'll keep the car.
