Oh well thats much better than a tin of shortbread and the £50 extra i received, even though my wifes car was nearly 7 weeks late. Big Cry

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from my LR dealer in my opinion Censored Censored Censored Censored

I would love too have seen what compensation Porsche would nave given you had the Macan been 7 weeks late.???

Saw a stunning RR sport last night 17 plate with black badges at the dealers.

I think my wife prefers the FFRR i have on loan as its a 4.4 litre with quite a kick too it Very Happy

So it seems like going for the Sport HSE in black now if they cant get the car sorted, but its only got 5 seats Sad

Well i would pack up your heart defibrillator Doc, just incase you have too kick start your RR Sport back into life, as my mates is in the garage as we speak and he is not a happy bunny either as keeps loosing power and conking out !!! Shocked

I'm not so keen on the engine note in the 2.0 but it performs really well actually. It has 3000 miles on the clock too so hopefully the bugs have gone.

They said they would call later with an update on the D5 but I'm not really interested in hearing about it until next week, it's already taken up enough of our time this week.

Hope you get yours sorted RoadRunner!

When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.

Yes i thought the D5, 2l was underpowered. especially when towing uphill, and quite a bit noisier compared too the 3l, which has a more refined note too the engine.

Not sure whats happening with it, as heard nothing from my local dealer, but its in the operating theatre as we speak.

Local dealer has been extremely helpful with the courtesy car and i will be buying from them next time. Smile

Even went the extra mile and made sure the car had a tow bar, as am in the middle of a major barn conversion, and i need a towbar.

Hope you have a good time at Harrods Thumbs Up Rolling with laughter

I bought a baseball cap from a Porsche dealership a few years ago (can't afford the car yet still..) but they were very forthcoming with a free one for my son, toy cars and some pencils for him. They seem to know how to garner a long term relationship with a customer and treat everyone as a potential buyer.

Yes and they can't really say that Porsche is more premium than LR. We've spent £1260 more on a loaded Macan than LR wanted on a deal for a Disco Sport HSE Lux!

    Question - reject car ?

This thread frightens the life out of me.
I realise these are early production models.
You'd expect the odd component failure or dodgy trim with "noise, vibration & harshness"
But limp home mode stranding journeys ?

All a dealer can do is plug into diagnostics & get back to LR, reseting may get it going but Fundamentally may not find the cause.
A complex vehicle of this cost ought to gave more fault tolerance & a warning instead of limp home

Hopefully these issues will disappear before I re-consider mine

Is there anyone brave enough to reject thier Disco yet ?

I know what you mean, by the dealers going the extra mile. Its the little sweetners that keep the customer happy and seals the deal.

Subaru were always going the extra mile, and with every brand new car, my Mrs also got a bunch of flowers and myself a branded jacket, branded watch, branded caps, keyrings, track day at Knockhill, and kids got freebies also. The best freebie i got was £3,000 worth of free fuel vouchers Thumbs Up

What was good was that the LR dealer was right next door, who were also the agents for Subaru, plus as my wife always bought from them, we were treated impeccably. Both sets of garages knew us well, plus if my car was in for a service, they would easily lend me a RR Sport if i asked.

LR were also good too us giving flowers, food hampers, champagne and keyrings etc. Also 4 x 4 vouchers for Dunkeld offroad, Perthshire which was always an excellent day out.

Unfortunately LR Town and County got taken over a few years back and also lost the Subaru dealership at the same. Hence i had too look elswhere for a First Edition which was 150 miles away.

Even now my local LR garage is offering a free ipad if you purchase a new car. I know next time where i will be buying from thats for sure Shocked !!!

    WATCH THIS SPACE !!!!!!! Censored

Yes i agree as it has the same engine in the D4 which was absolutely faultless.

Could understand if it was the new 2l ingenium engine which i had, what had the issues, but i have the 3l engine, tried and tested formula Crying or Very sad

One of the first ones too order and last one too receive one, which lasted 6 hours if that Big Cry

Just got to London in the RRS 2.0d without a hitch. That engine is great on the motorway. Averaged 39.6mpg

Really liking the 4.4l FFRR. Cracking engine. Pity the D5 never had an engine like this as would have definately ordered it Thumbs Up

I bought a 46k DS and a 77k D5 from my dealer since September. We got two cars - no flowers, champagne, Belgian chocolates - nothing. It's a tenner in lilies to make my missus feel she's part of the process and to make her supportive when I go back in three years. They think they can sell everything they get allocated so no need for you to feel special. Porsche did a much nicer handover job with my 911. LR need to up their game. When BA was going down the tubes in the early 90s, Lord King realised that passengers bought the door to door experience, so he fixed the Concord product by improving immigration speed, baggage handling etc. LR can't rely on McGovern's styling alone. The experience has to be good. I hate to say it - though I love LR products, I hate the owner experience. I've spent a small fortune on their cars in less than a year. Doesn't feel like they give a monkeys,

Phil - not sure which dealer depending on where in Bucks you are but Lancaster in Reading have a dedicated "customer loyalty" team and they do a fantastic job. Flowers, and carefully selected gifts for the kids from the clothing range as well as the fancy key ring box. Also a gift on the dealer tour day and they help bypass any issues you may get in the dealership. Can PM you an intro but maybe worth a drive.
