    Just read "my question" on Amazon seller states no expiry date. I will take a chance and purchase.

    My reason is so I can get my dealer to set up everything on hand over Very Happy

    The one I bought went into an unlocked TP Link MIFI device but it seems activation starts the 12 month clock, and I am guessing activation is the first time it connects to their network.
    I added a top up and that showed expiry after a month (but it did queue until the initial allocation was used then the month starts). I have a second one I will put in the car when it comes.

    You register then with the my three portal and it shows the data balance and the expiry time, but they need to be active first as it requires an SMS delivered authentication code to the SIM number. I presume the car has a mechanism for displaying SMS messages to the inbuilt SIM.

    Would this be possible from car ?

    "You can check your balance (even without registering) by going to http://mobile.three.co.uk, then select My3 then Account Balance & add-ons.
    You have to check it on your mobile device that the sim is in and it has to be using the sim (i.e. not on WIFI).

    I will try it with the one I have tomorrow (mifi) as I suspect you can check from a data connection from that SIM, so you could check without authentication when attached to the wifi hotspot in the car which is the equivalent of checking on the device itself. The alternative would be to register the SIM in a phone and then transfer it. Any unlocked phone with a micro sim or larger should work.
