Labbix I had noted you post regarding N222, which is in specific relation to the TDV6 and not the SDV6 (as far as I am aware). Also The frustration here is LR thinking a 1 year variable service is acceptable to jo public when it is not. Personnally I have experience of variable serivices with other brands. You choose a one year fixed or a two year variable. LR seem to want variable or variable without actually seeling them as such.
747_JK great info thank you. Seems you are within ±50miles of a 16k service, and averaging 15284 miles per year based on 2303 over 55 days.
Anyone else with an SDV6......keep the feedback coming
Is this N222 update only for MY17-18 and not for MY19(SDV6)?
That could mean that:
-or the SDV6 has no issues (which I truly hope)
- or the SDV6 has already that N222 software from the factory
Anyway I thought it might be useful to share how JLR does the calculations between needed services as this was not clear to me.
Very curious as well to see the evolution regarding oil service and dilution with this MY19 biturbo setup.
And I wonder what the real difference is between this MY19 SDV6 and the D4 SDV6 (which had a biturbo as well: no known oil service issues with that D4 neither, or am I wrong? The 50 extra horsepower and 100 extra torque can be achieved with the same physical setup, but different programming I assume)
The fundamental difference with the D4 is that the D4 didn't make any attempt to estimate oil dilution. It simply notified you that a service was due every 16000 miles or 1 year whichever was the soonest.
Even if there was significant oil dilution in the D4, no one would have ever known about it because no one was looking for it.

If only, my friend.
My car hasn't been minted yet unfortunately.
I'm expecting it mid December.
As soon as I get it I'll be pleased to provide the group with data
2019 D5 Lux. HUD, adaptive dynamics, dynamic pack 2, cooler box, privacy glass, advanced tow assist, black roof rails, massage seats, tech plus pack, detachable towbar, driver assist pack, capability plus pack.
careful searches on freel2 forum shows the odd oil dilution warning occurance, the software is there even on older dpf cars, D4 probably monitored dilution too but its seems to have gone hyper on eu6 cars

Hi,
To the original question :
My 2019 SD6, which I have since September 15 now has run 10766 km and the first oil service is scheduled to be at 15200 km.
The oil dilution issue does not affect this engine in my car.
Regards
Frank
Very mixed. Mostly country roads with some slower driving in town traffic. Some motorway and occasional long runs. Always enough to get the car fully warmed up but often multiple short journeys in the 5-20mile range with 20-40 minute stops between runs.
We have plenty of hills and bends so the engine gets plenty of exercise but I also do some slow off-road driving.
