    do all D5's have Remote start function?

    Hi,
    just signed up on this side of the fence Very Happy

    although I am already on a few different sides of the fence Rolling Eyes

    considering a D5 next from the RRS we have now and have read through quite a few pages (inc all 5 of "in car tech")

    Have seen a couple of post regrading starting the car from the Remote app but they all seem to be on a HSE spec car
    so
    As we will be thinking about an SE (3.0 sdv6 306) spec do All D5's have the function via the Remote app?

    our RRS has the same engine and we have the remote app but No climate start option ?

    I have an April 2018 SE and there is no remote start for me, just the ole button on the dash as long as I have the key fob in my pocket Smile

    MY18 HSE in Belgium- no remote start as apparently not allowed by law

    I have an SE 3.0 TD6 and it has remote start via the remote App.

    Does remote start via the app actually start the engine or just start the FBH like having the separate remote fob?

    It starts the engine from an app on your phone. I have no FBH.

    Hi,
    I have been doing a bit more research and reading on the RRS side of the fence Whistle

    First off Yes the remote start does start the engine but leaves the car locked and not driveable unless the key is present
    and no FBH is fitted (there are a few comments about the value of fitting a FBH with the "Timed Climate" option at about £1k)
    advantage of starting the car is you select temp on the app so could be heating (England) or cooling (Scotland Shocked ) the car
    disadvantage legality of engine running on public highway (ok on your drive) and someone thinks they can smash a window and drive off Evil or Very Mad (they can't)

    It seems the RRS has the option from 2017 so thats why wondering if all D5 have it or its specific to certain spec levels ?

    would you mind having a look at the app (do you use it much ?) to see if the "climate Start" option is there please, had hoped on a 2018 SE it would be Sad

    x1 SE that has (IndusD4)
    x1 SE thats a No (EMcc)
    x1 HSE not allowed (johnson) up to now then

    My 18my V6D SE has the option on the app but never used it.

    Different markets will have different options - you can only rely on UK SE owners to give you the answer!

    You need to add InControl Remote Premium to the order to get the remote cabin warm/cool

    Incntrol remote premium is standard on the HSE but lower level like S, SE doesnt include it unless you add to the order and pay the extra amount.

    Used mine for the first time this morning just to try it really and it worked well. It makes the FBH almost redundant, although even that used to be standard on the Lux D4

    except, if I used remote start outside the house at 6am, I think I would be dead by now....at least the timed climate is close to silent and uses considerably less fuel (not saying I would pay £1k for it and think its a shame the app will not activate the timed climate only start the engine)
