    Dashcam power from mirror

    Has anyone got any useful thoughts about using the power supply from the rear view mirror for a dashcam?
    HSE Lux MY17 in Loire Blue with deployable tow bar, activity key and cubby fridge. (And Apple CarPlay and Android Auto)

    I wired mine under the head lining down the front passenger A post to the cigarette lighter socket in the glove box , absolutely no problem. It also meant I didn’t have to tap into the vehicle wiring 👍

    Under headlining down passenger A pillar trim and into fuse box behind the glove box, there you can choose permanent live or ignition live
    Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
    Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.

    2018 Discovery Td6 HSE Lux Indus Silver

    Fusebox under glovebox, fuse 51 is a switched live. Earth can be on the metal subframe. Pop off dash end cap, run the cable up the side of the A pillar under the black trim then under headlining at the front to the cam. Pop on the end of the dash, close the glove box, A 10 min job max.

    Remember if you are getting piggyback fuses, they are the Micro 2 fuses.

    Can you get into the glove box by popping off the dash end cap ?

    Yes! Just pull it off, you can't damage then it just pops back on.
