Sounds to be revving although not??
Hi All
Bit of a random one but my D5 (69 plate) sounds to be revving more than usual, although the rev counter reads fine.
Really quite noticeable at around 45-55mph.
Even my wife and son have noticed when they have driven it recently.
No idea what it might be, apart from perhaps a slight hole in the exhaust perhaps but I'm clutching at straws.
Only other thing is could it be related to having the "charging system fault detected" warning being on!!!

Good result in the end Slug. Thanks for following the post up with a resolution...may well help someone with a similar issue.

I've got exactly the same issue now...OS front wheel bearing is rumbling. I ordered a new complete bearing hub since it's far easier than faffing about knocking out and pressing in a new bearing. Hopefully it'll arrive this week and I'll get it fitted...the drone from the knackered bearing is doing my head in.
