    Headlight Shut Lines

Post washing the car this evening I noticed (for the first time) that my Headlights are not flush with the front bumper on the nearside and not flush with the wing on the offside....!!!

    Nearside:

    Offside:

These are the only bits that are not flush and not the same on both sides.....!!!

    Anybody else have this...????

Whilst at my local Land Rover Approved Bodyshop (to get pre-delivery scratches repaired......another story.....no saga) I asked about the headlight shut-lines.

Apparently this can be sorted quiet easily under Warranty...!!! Very Happy

The Approved Bodyshop put a claim in for me with Land Rover UK and will re-book my car in for the front bumper to be removed and the headlight/wing to be adjusted so all becomes flush....awesome.

A case of trial and error with bumper on/off and headlight repositioning but all doable.

Good luck with others Thumbs Up

Trial and error leads to scratches and other damage, I don't think the head light flush fit is that major to risk all that work/damage

I checked mine over when I washed it, it only seems slightly out on the photo I posted the rest look flush.

I'm not too concern about it at the moment, your car does look a lot worse than mine.

You would think all these checks would be carried out before the car left the factory.?? Must be costing LR a packet to get issues like these rectified. Not to mention the inconvenience caused to the customer.

Bumper removal is a pet hate. Broken plastic lugs/clips and missing grommets. Bumpers never the same and never seems to sit flush like before removal and feels alot more looser ie more play and not as rigid like beforehand. Not to mention scratched paintwork from boilersuit zips etc Sad

I'm in VIN range HA, so I assume my car is affected. I'll need to have a look over it.

HA is the year and factory code (2017MY + Solihull).

LR tech bulletins use a (non obvious) combination of the vehicle model ID (LR = D5, LA = D3/4, etc) and the last 6 numbers of the VIN (sequential build number).

So check your last 6 numbers rather than any letters.

👍🏻 I did wonder, looking back at past VIN numbers never seen an LR.

Numerically my car isn't included, mines 009 range.

    Embarassed

Sort of took a bit too much for granted it seems!

If you VIN is lower than/less than/not more than 008316 (last six digits), take note.

    Otherwise naff off.

Mine is 14xxx and the profile is pretty good. Flush along the wing, maybe protruding by 1 mm at the grill
