I would be asking for my money back on the service pack if they had tried to charge me as it would be missold, as I was told no services costs if I bought the pack, that includes adblue...

No problem with the adblue with mine . Just called in as I was passing told them about the low warning. No problem, topped up there and then.

hatjoepeg1, If you can bear the hassle, I would go into the dealer with the pdf referred to in this thread and use it to try and get a refund of the oil change charge, it is clearly the result of a design flaw and the logic/flow chard at the back does seem to imply that oil changes should be covered. As for the Ad Blue, I think they are just wrong at the dealers - you should be able to confirm this on the LR site - I was sold the service pack as definitely including any and all Ad Blue top ups.

I had the service warning popped into Shukers they checked the oil for contamination found nothing. I presume there was a software up grade to re calibrate the sensor and all sorted.

I spoke with the service chap about oil dilution, he said the 3L TDV6 doesn't appear to suffer the dilution issue or he's not seen it yet.

So is he service light on a 3L TDV6 is a sensitive sensor thats fixed with an update?

I had a look on topix and I’m pretty sure I saw something about the service indicator. I will contact the service department and see about getting it booked in.

You should do as another poster recommended and download a critical file called JLRP00100 and read it thoroughly. Your service agent cannot check the oil for diesel dilution without using expensive specialist gas chromatography equipment. He is wrong to assert that the D5 doesn't duffer from premature diesel dilution because it says it does in the SCN. There is no "sensor" on board the D5. If you have excessive diesel dilution your engine will fail. That's not me saying that - it's Stuart Woodcock, a senior Technical Manager employed by Jaguar Land Rover.

No service warnings on my dash but checking the service menu it needs a oil service in 1700 miles, making its first service interval 5000 miles. I’ve emailed my dealer and waiting for there reply.

It is if the car has to go back every 2000 miles.

Mine has been up twice and now just come up third time in 6500 miles.
First time at 800 miles dealer re-set thinking it was not done on PDI, second time at about 4000 went in for reset and oil and filter change. Since then all my driving has been long distances 200-400 miles at a go with a couple of short trips
Car now booked in for next week for this and a couple of other issues, also logged call with LR customer services.

Mine's booked in due to the early service warning. Strangely, I saw the warning on the Incontrol remote app and haven't seen it on the car.

Like others, the warning has come up at 6400 miles. Dealer says they will change the sensor, oil and filter.

This is actually a combination of a number of issues in the bulletin.

    1) The service warning does not show on the car in the binnacle as it should, only in the app and in limited circumstances in the car. In mine it flashes up briefly very occasionally but only in the app. They have a fix for this, but in the interim you may never spot it unless you check he app.

    2) The DPF regeneration now is less likely to complete on shorter journeys hence the frankly terrible cop out added to the marketing materials about driving style reducing the service interval. Nothing in the bulletin that says they will address the DPF issue that looks like it will drop the service interval to a low level for some people as the cycle is longer, may not complete and need to be repeated. In addition the new engine introduces more fuel into the oil each time that causes the dilution. Impact is it dilutes more, and will be repeated more. The fix to this is to change the brochure !

3). At the moment they cannot reset just the oil change, it resets all service counters.

If the oil really is diluted it will cause engine damage and it is calculated value, so unless the garage has had the oil analysed then they wouldn’t know it was fine.

When I called in, I was told ignore it and bring it in at 16k miles, long after this bulletin was published. Rolling Eyes
