    2019 Discovery Td6 HSE Lux Carpathian Grey

    I got my Disco reading me texts tonight - iPhone 5S, just needed to turn on Bluetooth notifications (as per pic on page 1 of this thread). If that’s enabled, the texts get read.

    How? You have an HSE Lux. As far as I know InControl Touch Pro doesn’t support text message reading.

    My HSE MY17 doesn’t have any option to show or read messages.

    There are no settings on the car. Just go to ‘settings’ ‘Bluetooth’ ‘land rover’ and turn notifications on



    It may be MY18, I don’t know. Just compared a few cars at work with different owners and this was the difference. Worked for me Thumbs Up

    My DS with the standard system worked but I don’t get this option on the phone with ICTP on my D5. Should be the same hardware and software. Maybe it’s disabled on MY17 and not on MY18?

    Simonh, when did your software last get updated? The big update released 31 jan 18 included ability to read out text messages amongst other additions.

    So, after polling a few different owners - it seems* that if your phone displays the 'Turn Notifications On' it can read texts. If your car can't, it doesn't give you the option on your phone.

    LR confirmed to me a month after taking delivery of my FE that the text option was only available on the lower spec cars(my17) and not on HSE or above. They also confirmed that it would be available on later (My18) higher spec cars but would not be retro fitted to the older cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
    Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.

    I've got my personal Android at home (iPhone is work phone), I'll see if texts work with that later.

    There were no dash-options for me, just enabled notifications on the phone.

    Yeah. Same on the standard system. If that option pops up on the phone then it works. Mine is running the latest iOS but hasnt got this option but it does appear if I connect to a car with the standard InControl. I guess its either another ICTP bug or its disabled on MY17 D5's... which makes no sense.
